FROM ONE EARTHLING TO ANOTHER
Democracy; for those who believe themselves to be our leaders by entitlement, has become nothing more than a word.
Illegal wars are waged to spread it, freedom of speech and long established rights are being attacked to protect it and the basic human right to privacy is being violated to maintain it.

Now; global strategic partnerships are seeking to supplant it; unelected organisations are moving the world towards, what is being called; a multi-stakeholder system.

In effect, this will facilitate a movement of plutocrats and their global corporations into actual positions of influence and power within the political sphere and a dangerous step towards a system of unelected and unaccountable global governance, designed, as usual, to benefit the few.
Monumental changes to our very way of life are currently enabling this shift in power. Installed by stealth, without debate or scrutiny, or ever having appeared in a manifesto.
Our current political system is broken, our politicians; captured. Trust in the institutions which should be challenging this assault, and faith in the checks and balances which should hold their failure to account is nonexistent. Our parliamentary democracy; once regarded as the mother of parliaments, has been reduced to a vacuous, visionless kakistocracy, a place where corruption and intellectual mediocrity appear to be shamelessly ingrained.
No political organisation truly represents working people any longer, the two major political parties which are capable of forming a majority government, flatter and deceive to capture a middle ground which will give them the only thing they truly seek; power. Now; as this self-serving and spiritless political class continue to squabble and play out their interminable and infantile pantomime, the military industrial complex continues its march, committing atrocities beyond the comprehension of the vast majority of human beings, moving onwards towards another world war.

We need real structural change.
For us, democracy is more than just a word. It is; at its very core, an organic, living, breathing, entity. Human civilisations democratic odyssey has spanned thousands of years; human rights, voting rights and workers rights have all been secured by a brutal and unrelenting struggle. Many battles have been fought, countless individual sacrifices have been made with many incremental gains achieved and; as with all of life’s great journeys, it never truly ends, it continues to evolve and to this day our fight goes on.
Therefore, it is vital, at this time; as this warmongering and political corruption continues, we: the people; resolutely, and peacefully, continue on our journey. We must realise, as was inevitable; that the time to tweak our democratic model would eventually come around again; to refocus the attention of those who have presented themselves as representatives of the people, and to remind them: that is exactly what they are; and nothing more.
That time is now.
